The Lord Has Set Us Down

Be Still And Know That I Am God. Psalm 46:10

As we face the uncertainty in our life due to the Corona virus, I am comforted by knowing that God is in control. The Lord has set us down. He wants us to be still and know that He is in control. I for one am happy that He is in control because I know we will be praising His name for all the good He is about to accomplish.

However, I never wanted to be in a position where God has had to set me down. For as I have learned it has always been a condition where I have lost the little control, I thought I had over my circumstances.

““Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭46:10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

The Lord has set us down. He wants us to be still and know that He is in control.

Church Family Time To Be Still

Even though I know that this is a very scary time health-wise and financially I know our Lord and Savior will see us through. However, I realize that as we are under a stay at home orders, I have never been more connected to my church. In addition, to having services online where I feel, surprisingly more connected to the Pastor and the message than ever before. My church has created groups where we can do Bible Study, video prayer time and just stay connected. I am so blessed to be able to have so many share their insight for passages as well as share my views. I thank the Lord for this opportunity.

Due to this shut down I have felt encouraged to reach out to friends and family. To check on them and pray for their concerns and encourage them to keep their focus on the Lord. I have asked for prayers and shared my concerns. I have family in New York, and I want them all to be kept safe.

In my small private group on Facebook where I try to encourage women to read their bibles. To pray for each other and I can love on them the best that I can. They have all been a huge inspiration to me as I go about doing the Lord’s work.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 ESV

Family Time To Be Still

This is also a time to connect with your family.  For the first time in a long-time for many of us the entire family is home. Use this time wisely, to love them, spend time together. To share together and grow together as a family in the Lord. If your church has service online, watch together. Read your Bibles together and share what the scriptures mean to each of you. I am always amazed how certain passages resonate to others but not to me. No worries the Lord has a passage for me.

“All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before you.” Psalm 22:27 ESV

Your Time Alone To Be Still

I digress, the point is that we need to be in our Bibles with the Lord. To learn to know the truth. We need to speak of what good news we have learned from our Bibles. I know that I do not want to solely rely on what is being taught by man. Yes, the Lord can use many people in powerful ways. But we need to do our own heavy lifting with the Helper so that we can do our part.

The helper is a great resource for us. However, you will have to be very open to hear his voice and accept his revelation.  Our mind and heart must be fully open, and we must be willing to accept what we hear.  We must be able to do our own discernment when it comes to God’s word. Only then can we truly see signs of growth in our faith. Read my blog Christians and The Bible for my thoughts on reading the Bible.

Peace to all,

Sabrina
