Religious Thanksgiving Quotes And Christian Messages

Thanksgiving Day is a day to gather with family and friends. With a grateful heart, we express how happy we are to spend time together, enjoy a great meal, and catch up with the happenings in our lives. As we gather this holiday season to express our love to one another we know that Christ Jesus is the center of all our joy. He is the reason for this blessed Thanksgiving. However, sometimes we might need a little help when it is our turn to express our gratitude around the Happy Thanksgiving Day table or on the very Happy Thanksgiving Cards.  Here are some religious Thanksgiving quotes and Christian messages to help you out.

These religious Thanksgiving messages and wishes are supported by scriptures you can also share. They will enable you to express gratitude in a sound biblical way on this happy turkey day. Your love of God can be the greatest blessing you can share with your loved ones and the special people in your life.

Happy Thanksgiving Messages

Here are two religious Thanksgiving messages to share with your family and friends. I have also included a thanksgiving bible verse for each message. It is my hope that these Happy Thanksgiving messages will be a blessing you can share again and again.

On this special day, my message is to give hope to those who may be going through a difficult time. Know that the Lord is with you and will help you on this journey. He will never leave you or forsake you. God is with you during the good times and the bad. He is sovereign over all the wonderful things and the not-so-wonderful things that occur in life.  I am thankful that God will see you through it all. Amen.

No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Joshua 1:5 NIV

Let the peace of Christ rule over your life. Give God all your troubles in prayer. Ask him humbly for guidance and help in all your circumstances. Do not be anxious about anything. Give thanks for the good as well as the bad. The good things will bring you joy, and the bad will strengthen your faith and allow you to draw near to God in the midst of trials.  A peace will come over you that will be beyond your understanding, but you will know the Almighty God has heard your prayers. Amen.

“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 ESV

Therefore, I want you to praise his name in the songs that you sing out loud so that the whole world will know how thankful you are for God’s unconditional love for you and the world. Amen.

I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. Psalms 69:30 NIV

I have warm wishes for all my family members and friends. I pray that you will approach God with a thankful heart. Consequently, this is the best way to enter the presence of God giving him thanks and praising his name.  For the Lord loves you and wants you to live in eternity. Amen.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. Psalms 100:4 NIV

Thanksgiving Prayers

Here are some Thanksgiving prayers I wrote especially for you to share at Thanksgiving.

Dear Heavenly Father, I give thanks for the good food we are about to share with family and friends. We are so grateful for this blessing provided by our hosts. Please bless those who were able to attend and those who were not but remain in our hearts. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Dear Lord, we thank You for this opportunity to gather around the table once again to give you thanks for all that you have provided for us today and throughout the year. On this day we give thanks and though the year may have been difficult we know that we can trust in you. We know that You will continue to provide for all our needs. As we gather today to enjoy this bounty of turkey legs and pumpkin pie. We know that it is all because of you. Thank You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

This is a day of thanksgiving, and you are the first one we wish to thank. We thank you for your love, mercy, and grace. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Paul Was Thankful

Paul was one of the most thankful people in the Bible.  No matter what his circumstances, he was always encouraging others to be thankful. Paul knew that no matter what we were doing it should always be done in the name of the Lord.  Above all giving thanks to God the Father. We can all learn from his teachings by practicing thankfulness. Also, Paul gave thanks to others who continued to serve the Lord. Hence, he continued to be thankful to the followers of Jesus Christ.

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17 NIV

I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 1:4 NIV

Additional Thanksgiving Prayers

Here are some additional prayers based on the bible verses from Paul that teach us the greatest virtue of all. To be thankful in all our circumstances.

O God, I wish to be thankful on good days as well as bad days. I do not want the things going on in my life to make me forget to whom I belong. As I sit down to enjoy this Thanksgiving dinner, I want to be thankful and mindful of those who took the time to prepare it. I want to be thankful for those who took the time to be here on this day. Most importantly, I have only the best wishes for everyone who was able to be here. Those who have a lot of things going on in their lives but still manage to pause it to be here.  For them I am grateful. In Jesus’s name, we pray. Amen.

give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV

Dear Heavenly Father, I have a lot of things in my life to be grateful for. First of all, I am thankful for Your steadfast love. It is my desire to share that love with my parents, my siblings, my best friend, my partner, and acquaintances and co-workers. At this special time, we share over a meal, with a prayer, and good company should be done with thanksgiving to the Lord. In Jesus’s name, we pray. Amen.

“The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.” Psalms 118:24 NIV

Christ Jesus

Christ Jesus came down from Heaven to be a sacrifice for all our sins.  How could we not be thankful for these bountiful blessings? It is by far the most indescribable gift, and we are grateful and thankful for His sacrifice. It is thanks to Jesus that we have a victory over death. In other words, through God’s mercy and grace, we will live in eternity.

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15 NIV

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57 NIV

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 NIV

I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving from my house to yours. Whether this past year was some of the toughest times or filled with such good fortune your cup overflows. We are called to high standards where we offer a sacrifice of praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is the highest appreciation we can offer God for his invitation of a lifetime. Consequently, a lifetime living out eternity in His Kingdom. Praise God.

A Gift For You

Here is a gift for you and your family.  It is a Thanksgiving card to share. Your family and friends can share the greatest blessings they are most thankful for. However, I find that is sometimes the little things that I am grateful for. A long talk with a good friend, long walks listening to my favorite Christian or Gospel songs, or quiet time alone talking to God.

We have so much to be grateful for. Let’s make this the most joyous Thanksgiving Day of all by giving thanks for the following:

  1. Our Heavenly Father
  2. Jesus Christ
  3. The Holy Spirit
  4. Our families
  5. Good friends
  6. Helpful co-workers
  7. Food on the table
  8. A roof over our heads
  9. Good health
  10. Forgiveness

There are so many things that we can focus on to get us through the hard times and lead us into a great year. This is the most festive season of the year. Therefore, may God continue to bless you and your family during this time of thanksgiving.
